Middleton & Kingsbury Canal Walk

This circular walk, of approximately 4 miles, can be started at Broomey Croft or Middleton Hall Craft Centre car parks.
The route includes the towpath along the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal, which is also part of the Heart of England Way,
woodland paths around Middleton Hall and the opportunity to extend your walk to include Kingsbury Water Park.

Starting from Middleton Hall, walk along woodland paths here in a south-easterly direction opposite other bank.
Pass Broomey Croft Children's Farm on your right and continue along the towpath past two more bridges.
At the third bridge cross over the canal and make your way along the small road back to Middleton Hall.

Shustoke Reservoir

Walks, car park and toilet facilities.

Shustoke Reservoir is owned by Severn Trent Water. It is also the home of

Shustoke Sailing Club which regularly have competitions on the larger of the two reservoirs.

The smaller reservoir is used by Shustoke Fly Fishers.
There is a very pleasant walk around the large reservoir, with good parking facilities

for visitors in the main car park off the B4114, Coleshill - Nuneaton Road.
The reservoir is also famous for some of the more unusual bird visitors that come into the area.
The reservoir banks are covered in wild flowers in the spring, especially with Cowslips and Celandines.

The National Trust

The National Trust was founded in 1895 by three Victorian philanthropists - Miss Octavia Hill, Sir Robert Hunter

and Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley. Concerned about the impact of uncontrolled development and industrialisation,

they set up the Trust to act as a guardian for the nation in the acquisition and protection of threatened coastline,

countryside and buildings.
